Tell Me Why You Love Me (TMWYLM) Page 20
I lowered my head a little, still looking in his deep green eyes. “Got it…” I pouted, hoping he would be more useful than that…
He brushed past me and picked up my baseball cap from the floor. “Come on.” He stated, setting the cap on my head and giving me a smile. “Let’s go, my gay kid brother Dominic.” He teased, stretching out his hand towards me.
I didn’t hesitate this time to take it. Although I did hesitate opening the door.
Dammit, why did I have to blurt out ‘I’m gay’ in the first place? I am never going to live this down…
*
"hm..." I heard Melanie ponder as she re-applied her make-up for the fifth time today.
I gave her a (fake) concerned look. "What's up?" I asked her as she sprawled herself across my-er, her bed.
I was on my own with Melanie, in her room, having to cope with 'Jordan this' and 'Jordan that' for over three hours. It became heaven when she suddenly fell quiet.
"I expected a friend of mine to be here... How boring..." She pouted as she powdered.
"A friend?" I asked her, genuinely interested in what she had to say.
I saw her quickly glance towards me, still pouting. "Oh, it's a girl. Sorry, can't hook you up with her." She sang as she put away her powder puff and then took out some lipstick.
Oh, yeah. Since I'm 'gay'...
"Although, I wouldn't mind if you could try and seduce her. I mean, I’m not, like, going to make you date her, but just distract her thoughts away from Jordan." She explained to me.
Wait, what? She couldn't possibly be talking about-
"actually, I like you too much to force a whore like her on you." Melanie added as she practically stuck the entire lipstick on her face.
Yup, she was talking about me. Well, Freesia. I'm Dominic.
I decided to delve into dangerous territory and rested my chin on my palms. "You call her a Whore yet she's your friend?" I asked her.
After a day or three of practice, I got used to talking to Melanie as Dominic. And the boys got used to talking to Dominic, too.
I admit, there were a few slip-ups, but none that weren't easy to patch up.
"Not exactly." Melanie spoke before puckering her lips at the mirror. "She's not my friend, in fact I absolutely detest her." She explained what I already knew. "I mean, like, I shouldn't be telling you this, but I heard her father abandoned her and her mother. She then got shipped off to an orphanage for some reason. My guess, is that her mother ran away and left her so she could satisfy her needs as a Druggie. And then the girl ends up showing up here one morning before me - I mean, can you believe it? I arrived at 6 am and she was already there! - and then she spent all day with us at the fairground and wouldn't let me get out of her sight!"
I was having a hard time keeping my cool due to the fact she called my mother a druggie, but I couldn't. I am Dominic now, not Freesia...
"And I know that you may not want to hear this, seeing as how close you are with your brother and all, but she has a thing going on for Jordan." She almost whispered to me, packing away all her clown makeup. "I mean, can you believe it? She's obviously slept with those twin brothers of yours and then she has the nerve to go for Jordan? She's a slut just like her mother!"
Okay, having an even harder time not calling her a fucking slutty whore, but I mustn't.
My plan was to try and get some information on her background and get her honest opinion of me, to see if it's all but a mask hiding her true feelings. But her true feelings, it seems, are left out in the open for all to see.
"And then she has a go at me and threatens me, saying I'm in 'dangerous territory' or some shit like that. I mean, like, for real? Are you for real? I know what I'm talking about when I say she knows nothing about Jordan compared to me."
"Excuse me, I need to use the bathroom." I excused myself, trying to keep my cool enough to not 'mindlessly' snap at her.
I couldn't take any more and ran out her room as quick as possible. The bitch had no idea what she was talking about and I didn't want to hang around her any longer.
I ran down the corridor and down the stairs then into the kitchen where Jordan was sitting at the table, bored out of his mind.
I quickly grabbed him by the shirt. "Wha-hey! What're doing, brat!?" He shouted.
I showed him my eyes full of rage and sorrow and it didn't take long for him to realise and allowed me to drag him to wherever I wanted to go.
I chose the under stair cupboard since it was hidden and Melanie probably didn't know it was here.
The cupboard was only big enough for one of us, but it didn't really matter since I was hiding myself in Jordan as much as I could.
"Hey, what's got you so worked up? Why are you shaking?" I heard Jordan's gentle voice and I couldn't help but shed a tear.
"I can't do this anymore, I can't." I tried to explain, hearing my voice quake. "She keeps speaking so ill about me and my family, I just can't take it!" I tried burying myself into Jordan's hoodie but I could only go so far.
I felt one of his hands rub my back reassuringly and he pulled me in as close as I could get. "It's alright, Freesia. Listen, if it really is too much for you, why not have Dominic disappear for the rest of the day and have Freesia come back?" Jordan's voice was so serene, I wanted to listen to it all day... "And I miss the you right now. Dominic can go out on his own someplace whilst the actual you can return for a while." He added.
I began hiccupping in his chest and struggled to find my voice. "But, if Freesia comes back, she wouldn't want to step foot near that whore she now knows resents her so much." I tried to take a breath as my hands gripped the back of Jordan's hoodie. "She even went as far to call my mom a Drug addict... And a whore. And she said she knows more about you than I do but I know she's wrong!" I explain between every hyperventilation and hiccup.
"Freesia, just calm down. You and I both know those words of hers are all lies, okay? There is no way any of it is true." Jordan tried to reassure me. " Why not go take a breather? Let me deal with Melanie for the rest of the da-"
"No! I don't want you to do something you don't want to, just because of me..." I interrupted Jordan and tried to force my tears and hiccups to stop. "I can handle Melanie... Dominic can handle Melanie. I just needed to listen to somebody else telling me her words are nothing but venom... Or I would start to believe her." I explained as I pushed away from Jordan's body and wiped my eyes. "Thank you. For keeping me sane." I added, looking up to see his emerald green eyes full of sympathy.
I gave him a weak smile and placed a hand on his cheek. "Don't give me that look. I'm alright now, okay?"
Jordan set his hand over mine and delicately brushed it off his face before lightly kissing my forehead. "Don't let her get to you so much you start to believe her. I'm always here if you want a break from her. The others have your back as well, Freesia."
After being called Dominic for the last three days, I couldn't help but feel my heart warm as I heard my real name being spoken by Jordan's deep voice. And the hand coiling around mine... I never realised how much I missed it...
"Jordan! Jordan!" our bodies jerked as I heard the high-pitch voice call from nearby.
It didn't take long for Jordan to react and he pulled me close to him, covering my mouth with his hand. "Stay quiet." he whispered to me what I didn't really need to be told.
"Jordan, where are you? Dominic, are you here?" The fact she was calling the both of us meant it wasn't going to be something bad. Although neither of us wanted to shower her with our presence.
"Hm, looks like they're not here... Oh well, I guess I'll wait for Dommy to get back so I can tell him then." She sang as her footsteps made their way up the stairs, resonating into the cupboard.
When they ceased, Jordan took his hand away from my mouth and we both heaved a sigh of relief.
"I wonder what that was about." I mumbled. "But, really, Dommy? She has the nerve to give me a frickin' nickname?" I almost snarled.
A hand rest
ed on my baseball cap and I looked up to see a gentle smile on Jordan's face. "You alright to face the Demon?" he asked me.
I gave him a hesitant nod before getting myself out the cupboard and into the danger zone. Jordan and I went our separate ways, him heading to the kitchen and myself going back to Melanie's room.
"Sorry for taking so long, Mels." I apologised to her as I came through the door.
Suddenly, Melanie jumped on me and gave me a hug. "Dommy! Hey, listen." She started as she pulled away with a girly smile on her face. "Daddy said that his yacht's free tomorrow! SO I was wondering if you and your brothers want to take a little boating trip on that Beach nearby!" she gave me a look that told me I didn't have the right to refuse, but I tried anyway.
"Uh, yeah. I'll have to see if they are wanting to go... But I don't see why not." I mumbled, trying to not sound conspicuous that I'm gritting my teeth.
Melanie hugged me again, nuzzling her head in my chest. "Yay! This is gunna be, like, so fun!" She exclaimed.
Her excitement stopped and she just stood there holding me whether I liked it or not.
"Y'know..." She started, mumbling into my chest. "It's too bad you're gay."
Wait, hold on! What!?
Her face drew away from my chest and looked at me with seductive eyes. To say my expression was dumfounded was an understatement. "I really like you. It's a shame you don't find me attractive."
Even though she said those words, her plastic balloons were rubbing against my stomach and I didn't like it one bit.
It was gross! I was so tempted to grab a pin and burst those things before they exploded on their own!
"Uh, yeah. Too bad..." I didn't really know what to say at this point and panicked a little.
But I was saved by Melanie's giggle. "You silly! I'll still like you as a friend. We're besties, after all!" that smile of hers was not working on me.
I know behind those eyes she truly wants to seduce me into liking her back, I can see it in her body language. It's the same when she's around Jordan...
Oh great, just what I needed; the bitch to fall in love with me.
Chapter 26
Mom, please take me with you... Now. I can't stand this for much longer...
"Remind me again why YOU'RE here, whore?" Melanie asked, sitting herself on the railings of the boat.
I gave her a sharp glare. "Dominic asked if I wanted to come in his stead after he had to take a quick trip back home for... Family reasons." I reluctantly explained to her the story Jordan and I came up with.
Actually, it was Jordan who confronted me about this, but his reasoning wasn't ridiculous...
"What happens if you fall in the water and your clothes stick to your body?" Jordan asked me in his room, leaning against his door. He pointed to my chest, giving me a wry smile. "Unless, of course, you are willing to take off that bra of yours."...
I swear, the damn jerk was just trying to sexually harass me. But he did have a point.
So, here I am in this stupid high-class yacht as Freesia, instead of Dominic.
"I don't like this." Melanie muttered, before turning and running towards Jordan, pissing him off.
I leaned over the railing and watched the biting waves crash against the side of the boat. "yeah, you're not the only one..." I mumbled, feeling my eyes glaze over.
Damn Melanie. Damn Ocean. Damn Jordan. Damn Dominic...
I hate everything and everyone right now. Nothing can make this seem any better...
"Freesia! Freesia!" a small voice called to me and I turned to see Craig running at me with a life jacket on. "Can you adjust this for me? It's too saggy." He asked me, lifting the life jacket on his shoulders before letting it fall and sag.
Okay, my previous comment about nothing making this seem better, I could have been wrong.
I gave the cute boy a smile and squatted down to his height. "Alright, let's see, here..." I fiddled around with the straps before I managed to get it to the right adjustments. "There ya go!" I stated before standing back up.
Craig's childish smile came into play again and I couldn't help but smile back "Thanks, Freesia!" he announced before running back to the twins on the other side of the boat.
It made my heart warm a little when I saw Craig was enjoying himself. The twins seemed quite into it as well, using some of Melanie's father's fishing rods to sword fight rather than fish. But as long as they were having fun, I couldn't complain... Unless if they end up turning it into a proper fight and one of them gets a right hook, so to speak, in the face.
Actually, I think it would be best for me to stop them before that may happen.
I made my way to the twins and quickly snatched the rods from their hands. "If you're not going to fish with these, leave them alone." I scolded the twins who looked at one another slightly confused. "If you start arguing and fighting with them, one of you could get hurt. Then I'd hit both of you so you were both hurt!" I explained, setting the rods in their holders at the side of the boat.
"Aw, come on, Do-I mean Free. We were just having some fun!" Josh exclaimed, folding his hands in defiance.
Joe mirrored his twin's stance. "Yeah, lighten up a little! It may be Melanie's father's yacht but we should still have some fun!"
"News-flash, boys. I didn't even want to go on this little 'excursion'. I wanted to stay home glued to the couch, but SOMEBODY dragged me along anyway!" I yelled, indicating to Jordan who wasn't having the best of times, what with Melanie clambering all over him like a large dog.
He gave me a quick glance and scowled at me, giving me a 'If I'm going down, so are you' look. And that stare didn't sit right with me at all.
"Aw, I wish Dominic was here instead of her!" Melanie moaned loud enough for the dolphins underwater to hear. "I miss my gay bestie!" she added, screaming into Jordan's chest.
I gave out a large sigh. To be honest, I’m surprised she didn't even have the slightest suspicion of Dominic. Then again, she is as thick as a brick wall...
"Freesia!" I cringed at the noise escaping the skank's mouth and slowly turned my head to face her. "Freesia, can I trouble you?" she asked me and I knew nothing good would come of it.
But I made my way towards her, anyway. Jordan was with her, so I had a feeling she wouldn't do something too horrible. "What is it, Melanie?" I asked her, leaning my hand on the roof of the cabin.
I saw a sadistic smile grow on her face and she gave me several buoys. "Tie these on to the side of the yacht, please? I forgot to put them on."
I was unsure of what to do. It seemed like a harmless task, enough, but the way she looked at me gave me second thoughts. I mean, for all I knew, those things could be bombs! ... But then again, she wouldn't put herself and Jordan in danger... She wouldn't put herself in danger.
"Fine." I spoke sternly before snatching them out of Melanie's hands.
I walked away the instant I took them, not wanting to breathe the air surrounding that skank for much longer. I walked to the edge of the boat and leaned over the railing, taking a buoy and tying it as tight as I could to the side of the boat.
I did the same with the rest until I came to the last one, at the back of the boat. This one was a lot more dangerous, with the back being open with no railing. A stupid design flaw, if you asked me, but it didn't faze me. Although if I fell in to that water, I'd definitely know about it.
With the season being Autumn, the waves were a lot more nippy and harsh. If anybody fell into there, it wouldn't surprise me if they couldn't surface for long, with all the waves crashing against them.
I slipped a little as I finished tying the buoy to the metal loop on the back. It was only a small slip, but it still made my heart pound, thinking that I could have gone in the drink.
After I stood up and was safe on the deck, I heaved a sigh and placed me hands on my waist. "There, done!" I announced to myself, watching the waves crash against the yacht. "Wow, the sea really is bitter today..." I walked a little closer to the edge and leaned over. "I remember I
once fell in water like this. Luckily I had a life jacket on or else I wouldn't hav-"
My voice was cut to a sudden stop as I felt a pair of hands push my back. I felt my body go forward and Launch off the boat.
Chapter 27
The moment my body impacted the water, I felt the instant bite of the Autumn waves. They took me down beneath the surface, giving me only an instant to fill my lungs with as much air as I could. Which wasn't a lot.
I managed to propel myself upwards, just in time for my air supply to run out and my head splashed out the surface, gasping for a breath. I struggled to keep myself above water, but I was able to accuse Melanie.
"You damn bitch! What the hell was that for!?" I yelled at her, choking a little as I spoke the last word under the waves.
Stupid thing to do, I know. But I couldn't not shout at her. If I hadn't I knew I would panic by focusing too much on the fact I was pushed in to deep freezing ocean water.
I heard Melanie cackle with that grimacing smirk on her face. She whipped her hair off her shoulder and looked down on me. "I just wanted to show you your place! Just because you get Jordan's attention does not mean you are special to him in any way!" She announced with that pompous attitude you would expect of a CEO's spoilt daughter.
My lips returned a blue smirk. "oh really? Then you're admitting that you're not special to him, either!" I stated, a quiver in my voice as I struggled to fight the waves and clamber onto the boat.
It was hard enough to stay above water with all these harsh waves, let alone with these clothes weighing me down.
As I gripped on to the ladder and clambered to the top, I winced feeling a sharp pain on my fingers and looked up to see Melanie standing above me, her foot on my hand. "What the fuck do you know, Freesia?" She snarled, stepping harder on my hand. "You know nothing about Jordan!" She screamed at me.
Okay, the bitch is pissing me off big time. Who does she think she is? SHE knows Jordan better than I do? Like hell she does!
I gave her a wry smile and laughed a little, feeling my body almost freeze to the side of the boat. "News-flash, Melanie. You know NOTHING about Jordan." I snapped at her almost as strong as the icy wind was snapping at my face.
