Her eyes scanned me and then I realised something. Crap… I need to get out of there and away from her at all costs before she says anything...

"Freesia!?" My body jolted when she called my name.

  God kill me now.

I turned away and continued back to the hill where Josh and Craig were, hoping she wouldn't follow.

"Oh, my god! It is you!" She exclaimed laughing at me.

Joe ran to my side and whispered in my ear. "You know her?" He asked me.

I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth. "Yeah, we went to the same school... But I wish I didn't know her. In fact, I wish she wasn't alive." my voice was harsh and bitter.

"Aw, looks like little Freesia's finally found some friends!" She laughed at me. As her words began, I knew they wouldn't stop, no matter how far I tried to get away from her.

Just ignore her and keep walking...

"Melanie, what did you want?" I heard Jordan call from the villa, an irritable scowl on his face.

I glanced over my shoulder to see Melanie veer all her attention on Jordan and completely forget about me. Thank god.

But I knew once she had gone, Jordan and the others would demand an explanation from me about how I know the Skank.

Me, the twins and Craig sat on the hill, waiting for Melanie to leave. It didn't take long for Jordan to kick the Skank's filthy arse out the villa when she started bitching about god knows who doing god knows what. Her voice was so loud, we could hear that banshee from the bottom of the hill!

When she finally left, I was able to exhale all the air I had stored in my lungs and the tension in my body relaxed.

"You alright, Free?" I heard Josh ask me, nudging me by the shoulder.

I gave him a frown and hugged my legs against my chest. "I am, now that Melanie's gone..." I mumbled.

Craig crawled in front of me and kneeled there, giving me a concerned gaze. "What happened, do you know her?" he asked me, not tearing his hazel brown eyes from me.

I looked away, knowing how much his stare made me want to break. "Yeah, we went to the same school..." I explained, feeling my voice become quieter with every word. "She was a year above me and, well... Let's just say that she was probably the source of my first nightmare as a kid."

"So you didn't get along?" Josh asked, intrigued with what I had to say.

Before I could get into too much detail about my past, I stood up. "I need to go see Miriam for a minute." I excused myself, running towards the hill and trying to stop myself from thinking about that slut.

On my way, I almost collided with Jordan when I was too into my thoughts. "Hey, slow down, brat." He spoke to me as he grabbed my shoulders so I wouldn't fall into him. "What's the hur-hey. Are you alright?"

I looked him in the eyes to see concern grow in those emerald irises. I gave him a masking smile and brushed his hands off me. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just need to speak with Miriam about something." I explained, trying to hide my saddened look.

"And why not talk to me about it?" he asked with some sternness in his voice. "I know it involves Melanie and she is my responsibility, so tell me so I know what the hell is getting you so upset and angry all of a sudden."

My eyes widened in shock as he said those words. Was I really that obvious? But I didn't want to talk with him about it; I've worried him enough as it is.

I avoided his gaze and felt a lump in my throat. "I just need to ask her where Kyle is." I whispered clenching my fist a little.

"He's in his study upstairs, sweetie." I heard Miriam's voice from behind Jordan and the two of us looked her way. "Second door on the left." she added giving me a reassuring smile.

I mouthed her a 'thank you' before swerving around Jordan and making my way to see Kyle. I didn't want to see him, but I knew I had to.

"I'm coming wi-" I heard Jordan's voice being cut off by Miriam.

"Leave her be, Jordan. Whatever it is, she wants to deal with it on her own." I heard her explain as I made my way upstairs and into Kyle's study. And she was partly right, but I just didn’t want to involve Jordan in my problems.

I didn't bother knocking, it was something too important for me to waste time with formalities on a man who I still resented a little. "Kyle, we need to talk." I stated, scorning at him.

I saw him swivel in his chair to face me, a surprised look on his face. "what's wrong, kid?" he asked, a tenderness in his voice.

But I didn't care for it. I slammed my fist on the table beside him and glowered. "Give me one good reason why you picked up that fucking Melanie chick!" I snapped at him, his eyes showing some fear.

  "I don't know what you-"

"You know damn well what I mean! Why the hell would you pick up a Skank like her in the first place!? Couldn't you tell that she would be the last one in hell any guy would date!? And why HER!?" I began to yell hysterically, having my emotions get the best of me.

"Freesia, calm down. I don't understand, just slow down and tell me again." I heard Kyle’s voice try to calm me.

The idiot didn't understand? Looks like I was going to have to spell it out for him...

I took a deep breath before I spoke as calmly as I could. "That Melanie made my life a living hell at school! And she's the type who will continue to make my life a living hell as long as she is still alive! I want to know why you picked up her, of all people, to 'cheer up' Jordan!" I explained clearly and slowly, feeling my rage build with every word.

The look on Kyle's face showed sympathy and he sighed. "To be honest, I didn't want to 'pick her up' either. But the boss at my company demanded me to get his daughter out of trouble and find her a decent boyfriend that would keep her out of trouble. Jordan was my first choice." He explained, showing a look of disgust in his face. "I'm sorry but there isn't anything I can do. If the boss finds out I kicked her away, then I would be fired for sure." He added.

I gave him a look of hatred before I walked out the room and slammed the door shut. "Thanks for the help, selfish little shit!" I yelled to him from the corridor before making my way back downstairs and to the hill where all four boys were waiting.

He was being so inconsiderate! He has no idea what Melanie has said about him. In fact, I believe her venomous words towards Kyle were worse than mine...

"Whoa, Free. You look pissed!" I heard Josh call to me and the rest of the boys set their eyes in my direction, all showing sympathy.

I took a seat between Josh and Jordan and tucked my knees to my chest. "Yeah, well that idiot Kyle is a selfish jackass! I try to get along with him and then he goes and does something like THAT and my efforts are all pushed back down to the bottom." I explained, mumbling into my knee.

Craig decided to crawl his way in front of me and sat mirroring my position. Right now, even his cuteness couldn't get me out of my bad mood. "You okay, Freesia?" he asked me with that unbroken voice.

I raised my head a little and smiled weakly. "Yeah, I'll be fine." I reassured him, ruffling his hair with my hand before letting it fall limp to my side. "I'm just peeved with that father of yours... And the skank he let in." I added, speaking through gritted teeth as I mentioned the skank.

"What, Melanie? I thought you went to school together?" Josh asked me, shuffling closer.

I gave him a look of disgust. "Don't remind me. The chick's had it in for me since the very first day I met her." I groaned, recalling how the bitch hadn't changed in 5 years.

"What did you do?" Joe asked me, choosing a seat beside Craig in front of me.

I gave them all a smile and I shook my head. "Nothing." I stated blankly, before heaving a large sigh from my lungs "look, can we just drop it? She may have forgotten about it all and everything. Besides, I'd rather not have a reminder of what she said to me." I explained to the boys vaguely.

I knew I couldn't keep it to myself, but I wasn't going to have them all worry about me for nothing. The past has past and I am not letting a girl like her get to me. I am tired of running and I will not let her win.

  ... An
d what I hadn't expected, was that the next few days would be a living nightmare...

  Chapter 22

"Come on, Jordan! Let's go there, next!" I wore an apathetic look as I heard those words for the seventh time. "Oh, wait! How about there?" And those words for the fifth time.

I slacked my body and almost dragged my hands across the floor. I looked from the corner of my eye to Joe walking beside me. "Remind me again why I'm here with you guys." I mumbled to him, seeing his sheepish grin.

"Melanie wanted to go to the fairground with Jordan and when Craig heard about it, he wanted to go too." Joe explained to me and I glanced over to where Craig and Josh were play-fighting.

My gaze turned back in front of me and my eyes glazed over, not really paying any attention to my surroundings. "That still doesn't explain why I'm here. You and Josh can handle watching Craig, can't you?" I asked, my voice flat and monotone.

I felt Joe lean in to my ear and whispered. "Craig isn't the only one Mom wants us to keep an eye on." He told me, my eyes flushing away the glaze and I glanced to Jordan being swung around unwillingly in the hand of that inflatable slut. I looked back to Joe who smirked. "You got it." He replied before I even asked him.

But why me? Josh had Craig under control, so Joe could easily keep tabs on that venomous slag rubbing her rubber implants against Jordan's muscular arm... Right?

This all started this morning when we had an unexpected arrival at the door.

It was early in the morning and I was probably the only one to hear the rapping so I got up and opened the front door...

"If you have any business here could you please come back later when everybody is awake?" I mumbled, wiping sleep from my eyes, in a not entirely good mood. I was woken up at 6 in the morning and I wasn't a morning person to begin with.

"Hello!" My body and mind shot awake as I heard that high pitched voice. Before I could make any proper eye contact with her, I slammed the door shut in her face and ran to the bottom of the stairs. "Somebody call the nearby brothel and ask them if they've lost an utterly annoying slut called Melanie!" I called up the stairs and almost instantly heard a familiar voice.

"Melanie!? What the fuck is she doing here, get her out!" Obviously it was Jordan and his sexy half-asleep voice.

I turned back to look at the front door to see the skank still standing there, rapping on the door and singing out Jordan's name. I turned back to face upstairs and yelled. "Unless if I get permission to kick her up that filthy backside of hers, she's not going awa-"

"Jordan!!" My voice was cut off by the high pitched shriek slamming the door open. Shit, I forgot to lock it!

Melanie ran past me and up the stairs, calling Jordan's name as loud as she could without breaking any of the windows.

Oh crap. I slapped my hand in my face before letting it slide off and dragged myself up the stairs, afraid of Jordan punching her in the face. He wasn't much of a morning person, either. Especially this early.

When I had Melanie in my view, she was screaming and banging on Jordan's bedroom door.

"Make her go away!" I heard Craig call from his room.

Wow, this bitch had never heard of the word 'silence'.

"Free, do something before I personally kick her in the rear-end!" Josh's voice yelled from his and Joe’s room. Melanie was too busy trying to claw her way through Jordan's door to hear his insult.

"Wait, why me!?" I yelled back in protest, folding my arms.

"‘Cos you're the one who let her in!" all four boys yelled at me in unison.

Okay, I couldn't argue with that... Although I didn't like it. I didn't even want to look at Melanie, let alone drag her by the ear... Actually the latter sounded rather fun.

But I knew I couldn't; her ears might break off. Plastic is fragile, after all.

I heaved a tired sigh and grabbed the girl by her shoulder, gripping the fabric as tight as I could and dragged her away from Jordan's door, finally grabbing her attention away from Jordan. "Hey, let go of me you whore." She snarled at me.

I gave her a quick glance, ignoring her hypocritical insult. "Shut up and come with me." I tried to remain calm as I dragged her sorry arse down the stairs.

"What the fuck are you doing here, anyway?" She asked me coldly.

I threw her out the front door and blocked it so she couldn't get back in. "None of your fucking business, Melanie. I advise you to stay the hell away from here." I growled at her. The fact it was as early as it was, my mood was sky rocketing into thinking of murder. "And I suggest you back off of Jordan, too." I added, snarling a little.

I noticed Melanie's face click on to something. "Oh so THAT'S why you're here!" She announced, before grabbing me by my top and pulling me down to her height. I never realised how shorter she was than me. "I will never hand my Jordie-pu to the likes of you!" she squealed like a pig before snorting like one, too.

I shook my head with disbelief. "Seriously, Jordie-pu?" I asked her, continuing before she had time to reply. "And you have no idea." I added with a small chuckle.

I left Melanie dazed and gave her a smug look. "Bye, bitch." I ended the conversation by slamming the door in her face once again and locking the door this time.

I heard her cuss at me before finally giving in, driving away in her car. As I heard the motor speed off, I leaned my back against the door and slid down before my arse impacted the floor.

  Thank fuck she was gone...

"Good job, brat." I heard Jordan's voice from the top of the stairs and a wry smile on his face. It faded as he made his way down the stairs and towards me. "She's a pain in the arse to get rid of so I commend you. Here."

He held out his hand to me and I grabbed it, feeling my body haul up on my feet and a few inches away from Jordan. I gave him a blank look. "Thanks. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to sleep before I punch a hole through the wall."

"Not so fast." My body jolted as I heard Kyle's voice out of nowhere. I turned to see him making his way to the kitchen. "Melanie's parents called last night. They asked if Jordan could entertain her for the day whilst her mother is away and her father works." He explained.

I glanced at Jordan who was giving me a 'kill me now' look. I could sympathise with him...

"Where does she want to go?" I heard Jordan ask, swallowing down his distaste.

Kyle peered out of the kitchen and smiled. "The fairground in the City." He stated.

"Fairground!?" I heard yet another voice and turned to see Craig with his eyes almost bulging out his sockets. "Can I go?" He asked running up to Kyle, grabbing his trouser leg and wearing that huge childish grin of his.

"Well, as long as you two are okay with it. The twins will tag along to keep an eye on him." Kyle looked up to me and Jordan.

I gave him a puzzled look. "Wait, what? Why me as well?" I asked him, slapping a hand on my chest.

"Oh, yeah, Miriam wants you to tag along with Jordan and Melanie to make sure there isn't any funny business." He winked at me and I didn't even need to look at Jordan to know he was pissed off.

... So, here we are. Walking through the fairground, with me and Jordan being the only ones absolutely miserable.

I felt a reassuring hand slap on my shoulder and looked up at Joe. "Cheer up, Free. You can't run now so just try and have fun." He spoke to me in a gentle voice.

  Right... Fun...

I glanced at Jordan being dragged along by Melanie. He gave me a sympathetic look, mouthing the words 'help me'. When Melanie noticed him looking my way, she cast me a sharp glare, tightening her grip on Jordan's arm and pushing herself closer to him.

Yeah, 'have fun'. More like 'don't kill anyone'... I thought fairgrounds were supposed to be fun, not torture.

Then again, anything involving that little skank would be miserable for me... And Jordan, too.

I watched as Melanie dragged him to a food stall, clinging to him like that tight shirt of hers clung to her rubber bosoms. I hated her before, now I hate her enough to murder the fairground
mascot guy wandering about... Actually he was pissing me off, too. He was obviously trying too hard and pretty much scaring all the kids away!

I forgot how much I hated people. I remember my mother used to make a game so I wouldn't get too angry and depressed... But I can't remember for the life of me what it was!

Damn, now I'm pissed at myself for forgetting!

"Here, brat." A familiar voice snapped me out if my thoughts and I looked to see Jordan standing in front if me, holding a frozen yoghurt in front of him. I sheepishly took it from him, whispering a 'thanks' and looking away. "Hey, what's up with you? I think you know by now that too much thinking is bad for you, right?" I felt him gently knock my head with his fist.

I gave him a look of avoidance. "Idiot, I can't stop thinking, y'know... Unless you want me to end up like that thing." I indicated to Melanie who was giving the other boys their frozen yoghurts.

Jordan glanced to her and heaved a heavy sigh. "Sorry about all of this." He admitted, my eyes a little shocked to what I heard. He apologised? Is this really Jordan!? "Look, I'm going to try and get rid of her. She's making me want to punch her lights out just with that squeaking she calls talking." He shook his arm, looking at it with disgust. "And I need to change clothes. Her scent is like dog shit and those boobs of hers have been rubbing on my sleeve all this time." He then looked back at me and pointed to my chest, a wry smile on his lips. "I'd rather have a board against my arm any day!" He teased.

I gave him a menacing glare and took my plastic spoon with some frozen yoghurt on it and shoved it in Jordan's mouth. "Stop there before I decide to kick you. Trust me, if I did right now, I would probably land you in hospital the way my nerves are right now." I explained to him before taking the spoon out his mouth and walking away to the boys. I noticed his eyes had a shocked look about them…

I began eating into the frozen yoghurt as I took a seat between Craig and Josh, hoping to keep them from fighting. I swear, they should have been twins and not Josh an Joe!

"Hey Freesia!" I heard Craig from my left, his childish grin on his face as he kicked his legs off the edge of the short wall we all sat on.
